The Gibson Group has been producing television since 1978. Since then, the company has made programmes spanning a range of genres, including primetime drama, children's drama, comedy, documentary, arts magazine and information programmes.

Since 1994, The Gibson Group has worked with international co-production partners from Australia, Canada, Britain and Sweden. Its programmes have won numerous awards, both in New Zealand and around the world.
