New kids sitcom 'EMU' in production

Emu is to return to ITV1 for a second run following its revival two years ago.

We are in co-production with Endemol's UK company Initial for a 26 x 15-minute series of the show, which will air in a weekend slot on ITV1 this summer, with weekday repeats on CITV.

Toby Hull, son of the late Rod, is playing Emu’s sidekick in the series, in which the action shifts from their flat to a café that the pair run in a typically catastrophic fashion. They are joined by a new character, the adventurer Uncle Peter, played by comedian Peter Piper.

The series was being shot on location in Brighton and at Avalon Studio's here in Wellington and has now moved into the post production stage..

Executive Producer for Initial - Christopher Pilkington

Producers - Dave Gibson and Rachel Davis

Director - Danny Mulheron
