Tai From New Zealand
Tai is a sweet goofball. What he lacks in coolness, he makes up for with his sense of humour. This is what bonds him with Robbo ' they both share a mischievous and brilliant sense of fun. Although he wouldn't naturally want to work in a café all day when he could be out having a laugh, he's actually come to really enjoy it, especially when he can hang out with Robbo, his best mate.
Tai's father died, and after getting in with the wrong crowd back home in NZ, his mother sent him to live with his grandmother on the island and learn more about home. Since he's arrived, he has formed a good, trusting relationship with his wise nanna, Cora.
We don't hear much about the trouble he was in back home in Wellington, but it's not seriously criminal. More like too much hanging round with the bad boys outside McDonalds! Tai isn't bad, he's just easily-led. He's happy to be told what to do another reason he and Robbo get on so well. He is an excellent diver and swimmer in fact he totally rocks at any water-sport.
Although Tai is fearless, he's sometimes scared of the ghosts, but out of all the kids, he's the one that's most curious about them. Over the course of the series, Tai will realize that he is the hero that could potentially save the island from the ghosts. The joke is that the most unlikely of the kids, is actually the chosen one. He's the last person you'd expect to be the Harry Potter guy.
